Not trying to be a dick (again) but Microsoft can say that, but at the same time look at how sneaky they've always been. Say one thing and do the opposite. Personally I think they've been afraid to make a knock off of smash bros. due to being ridiculed for it, or fear of it failing. Maybe PS making a smash bros. knock off that is successful will give them the unf to make one themself.
I agree, being ridiculed for making a SSB copy-cat is a bad stigma. It has and will undoubtedly damage PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale when it comes to review. However, the way SuperBot have responded has been great. They are humbled by the comparisons being given and recognise that they have been 99% inspired by SSB. Microsoft’s time may well come, but not for a long while. There’s nothing worse than to be seen to be jumping on the bandwagon, not 2nd, but 3rd. I also think that they need to strengthen their 1st party assets before they make one. If they eventually do, I’ll be happy. These types of games are great and it means more people get to play them!
“We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse.”—Bethesda (via BethBlog)
Microsoft already stated in an interview a few months back they have no interest in creating a Smash Bros-esque title; they've said they simply don't have the familiar IPs. They even jested that the entire thing would be Master Chief, Spartans and Blinx the cat =] Also Crash really has to be in Playstation All Stars, Spyro too really.
This is true. Microsoft do have plenty of awesome IPs, but probably not enough to put it on par with a Sony/Nintendo game. To be fair to them though, they have only been in the console gaming market since 2001 and a lot of their strategy is on securing key third party support such as that of Call of Duty etc. It would be great if Crash was in there, so too with Spyro. I don’t hold out too much hope for Spyro though.
Not trying to be a dick but if Crash deserves to be in it why does Playstation get to jack the Big Daddy. Bioshock originated on xbox, and didn't come out on PS3 til over a year later. Now if xbox were to make a smash bros like game, PS3 would probably be childish stating that xbox stole the character that was rightfully xbox's to begin with :/,
Like you say, Big Daddy’s involvement in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is questionable. It is obvious that it is to do with the on-going relationship between Irrational Games and Sony. This has gone on for a while now as shown by Irrational willing to back the PlayStation Vita with an original BioShock game. In my opinion, Crash does undoubtedly deserve to be in the game. Crash was designed originally to be a PlayStation mascot to rival Nintendo’s line-up of Mario & co. If people were to complain about Big Daddy being in an Xbox fighter, that would, like you said, be extremely childish.
The US PlayStation Blog want you to submit your ideas for the next Dualshock 3 design.
