Mass Effect 3 Internal Beta Leaked onto XBL
An internal beta testing version of BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 was accidentally released to the public on Xbox LIVE. The version was given to those who had signed up to participate in a public beta through the Xbox Dashboard. The mistake was picked up shortly by both BioWare and Microsoft, subsequently being removed.
The 1.8 GB download feautred sections from the single-player campaign and the series debut multiplayer feature. Users over on the NeoGAF forums were able to capture screenshots and video of the leak. In a forum post, BioWare stressed the code is not representative of the final game.
We’d like to stress that the leaked code is in a rough, unfinished state and was not meant for public release. The content is not final, and is not reflective of the quality of the finished, polished game due for release on March 6, 2012 (March 9 in Europe).
Here’s a video captured by one of the users that got their hands on the now deactivated beta.
