Rumour: S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series Headed to Bethesda?
There are reports coming out of GSC Gameworld’s native Eastern Europe that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series may live despite ‘frozen’ development.
With members of GSC Gameworld leaving the financially plagued company to form their own studio and MMO title, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series may not be dead afterall.
The Russian website, Stalker-GSC.ru has posted a statement which supposedly comes from GSC Gameworld’s head, Sergei Grigorovich. There is currently no confirmation of authenticity, but here’s what was said: (grammar courtesy of Google translate)
"I realized that this concept is the stalker will not be of interest to many players and decided to remove all the work. Announcement will not be shown instead, all that the team managed to do without me. STALKER brand into the hands of Bethesda games.”
We doubt whether it’s true or not but it would be great to see the series live with the cult following it has! The fans deserve it, as do the folks from GSC Gameworld after putting so much hard work into the project of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2.
